Gender inequality is a prevalent issue faced by developing countries such as Indonesia. High gender inequality acts as a barrier to achieving sustainable social, political, and economic growth, leading to unequal well-being between men and women. The well-being of a society can be measured by economic growth. High economic growth loses its significance when accompanied by high gender inequality, as it means that the growth is not equitably distributed among the population. This study aims to analyze the influence of Covid-19 and gender inequality on economic growth in Indonesia. The analytical method employed is panel data regression analysis using the fixed effect model, which includes cross-sectional data from 34 provinces and time series data spanning from 2015 to 2021. The research findings indicate that the Covid-19 variable has a negative and significant impact on economic growth in Indonesia. Additionally, the gender inequality index variable also has a negative and significant effect on economic growth in Indonesia, both before and after the Covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, variables such as the gender development index, human development index, and gross fixed capital formation exhibit a positive and significant influence on economic growth in Indonesia after Covid-19. Some variables, including the gender empowerment index and the male-to-female wage ratio, do not significantly affect economic growth in Indonesia, both before and after Covid-19.
