NARRATIVE COUNSELING AS NEW BREAKTHROUGH IN SOCIAL INTERVENTION IN INDONESIA: SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW (SLR)

Social problems that occur in society are never finished. The purpose of this study is to describe the narrative counseling approach in answering social problems and explore the forms of narrative counseling approaches that have been applied. The literature review used in this article was conducted through searching the Science Direct, Taylor & Francis, Springer, Willey, and google.com databases based on theme, content, citations, and published in 2019-2023. The initial search results found 12,814 literature and then filtered using the keywords "Narrative counselling," "Narrative therapy," and "Storytelling" and following the SLR protocol so that the results of the reviewed literature findings were 81 articles. However, in searching for keywords, it was often not found in the theme or title, but in the content of the article. The result of the literature review is a narrative counseling approach that can be one of the new alternative breakthroughs aimed at answering social problems in Indonesia, such as trauma, personality, violence and sexual harassment, career development, gender. The problem that the application of narrative counseling has the basis of storytelling that has often been done by everyone. The implementation can be in the form of stories and reflections, the use of social media and other media, games, dramas tailored to the needs of the counselee. Likewise, the implementation of narrative counseling can be done face-to-face, online counseling, and at home. Storytelling is one of the knowledge management processes of knowledge sharing.
