Violence against children in Indonesia remains a serious and multidimensional social problem. Data from SIMFONI PPA (2024) report more than 15,000 cases annually, including physical, sexual, emotional abuse, and neglect. Child Welfare Institutions (Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Anak/LKSA) play a vital role in the recovery and rehabilitation of child victims; however, existing practices are largely administrative and material in focus, with limited attention to psychosocial recovery and identity reconstruction. This article explores the application of a narrative approach in LKSA as an alternative social intervention paradigm centered on meaning-making and empowerment. By positioning children as reflective subjects with voice, narrative practice facilitates the re-authoring of life stories to rebuild identities affected by violence. Using a literature review and conceptual analysis, the article highlights three key dimensions: narrative externalization of violent experiences, identity reconstruction through re-authoring and re-membering, and the transformation of LKSA into spaces for meaning recovery. The findings suggest that narrative practice strengthens trauma-informed care, enhances children’s participation in recovery processes, and fosters more collaborative and egalitarian social worker–child relationships.
